Support solar energy in Ontario - Stop the MicroFIT tariff reduction

Throughout July and the first half of August, the Green Party of Ontario joined with thousands of farmers, homeowners and solar entrepreneurs to protest the Liberal governments arbitrary cutbacks to the MicroFIT solar energy program.

On Friday, August 13, the government announced that it had agreed to the main demands raised by stakeholders.

This represents a significant victory for community-based solar energy in Ontario.

Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, has joined with concerned citizens and local farmers from the Holland Marsh, to launch a province-wide campaign against the construction of a natural gas plant on some of Ontario’s most bountiful farm land. Together, they are calling on the McGuinty government to stop imposing these plants on local communities and ensure Ontarians’ voices are heard.

Support ridesharing in Ontario

It took extensive public pressure for the Ontario government to back down and allow ridesharing. Initially the private bus company Trentway-Wager convinced the Liberals to ban it. Please support Pickuppal to make sure ridesharing is protected in law.
