Recently, Bassam Lazar was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Born in Iraq in 1981, Bassam and his family fled the country for a chance to improve their lives. After spending two years in a refugee camp, they arrived in London in 1993, where they began their new lives as Canadians. His family strived as local business owners in London and provided Bassam with the opportunity to pursue an education.

Graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Political Science, Bassam has always been an active member of the communities in which he resides. He achieved his Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Windsor to better prepare him for a life of public service. As a long time Environmental Advocate in Windsor, he worked to network local environment and grassroots organizations and formed various environmental and social justice coalitions.

His strength and character as well as his principles and background of environmental advocacy have sculpted him to be the ideal candidate for the Green Party of Ontario in the riding of London-Fanshawe.
Bassam brings an integrity rooted in a family that knew the true meaning of struggle. His passions to identify compromises and unite people outline the principles of the Green Party of Ontario and bind him to the service of his community of London-Fanshawe.
