Jonathan Milnes, with a degree in Environment Studies, has a deep academic understanding of pollution prevention, Corporate Social Responsibility reporting and environmental problem solving. With a passion for water policy, Jonathan spends his free time championing environmental regulation in the Great Lakes.

Jonathan grew up in Uxbridge with his 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family moved to Toronto to be closer to their father. Following high school, he crossed the Atlantic to work on a number of organic farms, through WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) - mainly in Ireland and Portugal.

Jonathan attended the University of Kings College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and majored in History and Environmental Studies. While at school, he assessed the waste management policies at the largest cafeteria and proposed a new age water management policy in a student residence.

After four years in Halifax, Jonathan decided to spread his wings and spent 6 months travelling South America. Through his travels he gained a great appreciation for what Canada has to offer and the societal gaps that exist. Again working on organic farms through the WWOOF program, he learned the many benefits of green energy, local sustainable food supplies and alternative health practices.

Upon returning to Canada, he began working for Green Standards Ltd., an organization that helps companies, large and small, donate to charities their no-longer needed assets. In his role as Director of Operations, he is responsible for the daily activities of the company. As DOP, his main focus is to ensure all projects help companies develop relationships with their local community and environment to better help them meet their corporate objectives.
