Pat Rogerson
Pat Rogerson was born, raised, and educated in Sudbury. In 1974, she graduated from Laurentian University with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Over the 30 years following her graduation, Pat worked with several non-government organizations as a facilitator, a counselor, a community developer, and a manager.
Pat has an amazing work history with the Friendship Centre, the Valley Association, and the Pastoral Institute. Through her experiences with these organizations, she has had opportunities to develop programs and activities to support individuals, families, and communities of all ages, educational levels, and ethnic backgrounds.
Through her work, Pat has developed and implemented programs for health and nutrition promotion, social services, employment support, budgeting, and marriage counseling. She has been active in recruiting and training individuals who are motivated to deliver solutions to problems within their communities. Pat has also been involved in government organizations and agencies that support and advocate for individuals.
Overall, Pat’s work has been focused on community members in need - helping community groups identify problems, and find and implement local solutions. Throughout her lifetime, Pat has received much support from numerous groups and organizations, including the Sudbury Professional Business Women’s Association, who nominated her for the title of Woman of the Year. Pat has also been recognized as a role model to women in the community by Laurentian University’s presidential advisory committee on the Status of Women.
In her personal life, Pat has had the good fortune to find a partner that has continuously supported her. Together, they have two wonderful children who have grown into amazing adults.
