Greens oppose ethanol production
02.10.2007 - 10:39
Provincial Green Party Leader Frank de Jong was in Barrie Saturday to speak out against ethanol plants, specifically the one planned for Barrie.
Barrie’s Green party candidate Erich Jacoby-Hawkins joined de Jong to meet with citizens about their platform and their views on ethanol fuel.
“We know we have to get away from fossil fuels, but going head on to corn ethanol is not the way to go,” de Jong said. “We support cellulous ethanol, we support bio-diesel, bio-gas, all sorts of other bio-fuels.”
