Akbar Manoussi is a Business Management Professor at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business and a prominent figure in the Ottawa Muslim community. He is an accomplished public speaker and writer who has extensive experience in research and applied management, as well as excellent leadership and networking skills

Akbar holds a B.A. in Economics and Law from the University of Tehran, a Master of Arts in Applied Economics and Econometrics from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Science from the Faculty of Engineering, also from the University of Waterloo. He taught for 20 years at the University of Ottawa, and before that at Algonquin College.

Akbar, who is the Secretary General of the Iranian Scholars Association of Canada and Director General of the Iranian Cultural Centre in Ottawa, brings a wide range of skills to the Green Party, as well as an ambitious vision. “The Green Party of Ontario is the only political party that genuinely welcomes new ideas and new people,” he says. “I want to be a part of that change for the better.”

Manoussi served as Vice-President of the Ottawa Muslim Association and is currently the chair for the association’s public relations and media committee.
