Attila Nagy was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in the late 80s. A natural conservative, his first election choice was Kim Campbell in the 1993 federal elections. Although she received 16% of the support, all these votes were ruthlessly discarded and the people standing for her left without representation. (John Tory was the chair of that campaign – electoral reforms anyone?) As the conservative movement in the nation went further and further to the right Attila Nagy was searching for and found a new affiliation home within the Green Party of Canada.

The party advocating smaller and more localized governments while still standing for essential services, looking forward to a future that is both sensible and sustainable was a natural choice.

Attila has a Bachelors of Science degree for Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology. Following graduation the job market was extremely thin and under the crippling student loan debt Attila was forced to find a job surveying and inspecting underground Natural Gas Pipelines for Galvanic corrosion and Stress Corrosion Cracking. Through the course of the job, he has surveyed thousands of miles of rough terrain in twelve US states and four Canadian Provinces, lived in dozens of towns and visited hundreds of municipalities.

Attila Nagy has taken a year off to pursue a writing career and run for political office. He enjoys playing soccer, creative writing and meaningful discussions on current events, politics and various worldly issues.
