Scott Warner lives and works in the riding he represents. He and his partner Anneliesje Warner have a two-year-old daughter named Portia, and are expecting again in November.

Scott brings a vast background in consulting and risk management to this effort. He is a 25-year veteran of the Employee Benefits Industry, and his work in underwriting, business analysis and management provides ideal matches to the contest for the Oct. 10 provincial election. Well known in the industry for both technical and technology skills, Scott’s most recent work was in enterprise risk management, an area of emerging importance to public and private corporations.

Scott has worked on projects considered for the St. Andrews University of Scotland Environmental Prize (2005), and is currently assisting in the background plans for an attempt at the Branson Prize, and cash prize for the first firm or individual that can sequester one million tonnes of carbon. He is an active member of a fraternal organization and has led this group towards such efforts as shoreline cleanups, adopt-a-road programs and the general encouragement of youth involvement in the stewardship of our world.

New to politics, Scott compares the experience to automobile ownership. “When your car breaks down, you take it to a shop where perhaps you know the people, and if they do a good job you stay with those people. However, if they fail to live up to their word, or provide substandard service at inflated prices, you go somewhere else, somewhere new.”
