Peter Ormond grew up in the Durand neighbourhood, attending St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary and Westdale High School.

Peter is a member or past member of various organizations, including the Conserver Society, Hamilton Naturalists Club, Environment Hamilton, BARC, Earth Day, Positive Power, Arts Hamilton, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the United Way. Nationally, he is a past board member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association.

A mechanical engineer with a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering and a Queen’s MBA, Peter has worked throughout Canada and overseas. He has taught courses related to engineering, business and the environment at Mohawk College and McMaster University, and has consulted on many innovative projects related to conservation, renewable energy, climate change and sustainability.
