Jerry Schulman was born in 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, and immigrated to Canada in 1967. He is a computer programmer consultant, and has graduated from the University of Toronto (Science), York University (Fine Arts), and McMaster University School of Continuing Ed (Computer Science).

Jerry has volunteered as a Big Brother, and served on the Board of Directors, and as Vice-President of Big Brothers of Hamilton-Wentworth. He also enjoyed working as a volunteer for Elizabeth May’s campaign during last year’s federal by-election in London.

Jerry and his wife, Mindy, have two children, Emma, who is attending her final year at Dalhousie University, and Robin, who is in her final year at Northern Secondary School. Together, they are involved in a community-based initiative that supports installing solar power in homes.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoys cooking, writing and playing music, and is an enthusiastic participant in many outdoor athletic activities such as cycling, running, cross country and alpine skiing.
