Born in Greece and raised in Toronto, Trifon grew up in Don Valley East and has a strong sense of awareness of the community’s needs. He’d like to use his experience as a journalist and his commitment to his community to serve area residents. Trifon would help improve the environment we live in, support the services our seniors greatly depend on, come up with tangible solutions to help improve our child care facilities, assist in creating opportunities for our youth, actively participate in labour relations, and do everything possible to maintain and strengthen our outstanding education and health care system.

Trifon owns a media communications firm that creates news and entertainment for the global market. An honorary member of the National Ethnic Press & Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC), he was granted the organization’s medal for distinguished services. He is also a recipient of the NEPMCC “Honoris Causa” award for promoting equality, respect for human values, human rights, cooperation and understanding amongst the members of the various cultural groups existing within Canadian society.

“Politics has always played an important role in my life,” Trifon says. “I’ve seen firsthand how committed people can make their community a better place when they have a long-term vision, the will to carry it out and most importantly, great listening skills.”
