Bruce Haines has a long record of service to the community. After graduating high school in 1980, he served for 10 years as a Metropolitan Toronto police cadet, police officer and detective. For the past 17, years he has owned and operated a large private corporate investigation company with more 100 employees from diverse backgrounds.

Bruce Haines has a long record of service to the community. After graduating high school in 1980, he served for 10 years as a Metropolitan Toronto police cadet, police officer and detective. For the past 17, years he has owned and operated a large private corporate investigation company with more 100 employees from diverse backgrounds.

In 2006, Bruce became directly involved in electoral politics, acting as campaign manager in Vicky Dhillon’s successful bid to become the City Councillor for Wards 9 and 10 in Brampton. He is also a local environmental activist who co-founded Greenvisions, Citizens for Brampton Conservation and is its current chairperson. He serves on the Etobicoke-Mimico Watershed Committee under the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority, and is an active member of the Sierra Club (Peel Chapter). As a social activist, he is on the management committee of Knights Table, an outreach organization offering a soup kitchen, food bank and other programs, and he works there as a fundraising volunteer.

Bruce, 45, is married and has two daughters. He and his wife Dianne are expecting their third child near the end of 2007.
