Dear Green Party of Ontario supporter,

As 2009 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to update you on our End of Year Fundraising Campaign.

Last month, Election Readiness Chair David Scrymgeour reported on the critical success that was our Annual Policy Convention. We witnessed a bold future direction for our party begin to take shape with the election of Mike Schreiner as our new leader, and were asked to show your support buy making a financial contribution. Because of your strong response, we have raised over $22,000 from this campaign so far! However, even more important is that we are able to invest an additional $10,000 into our campaign fund for 2011!

I am so proud to donate my time and money to a political party that is debt free and fiscally responsible, has a strategic plan to elect MPPs in 2011, and possess strong leadership from Mike Schreiner. It is exciting to volunteer for a party that champions important issues facing local communities, such as stopping the construction of a natural gas plant on some of Ontario's most bountiful farm land in Holland Marsh. (If you have yet to sign our petition, please take a moment to do so!)

More Ontarians than ever before see the Green Party of Ontario as the organization who truly represents their concerns. Our party is on the move, and 2010 will be a watershed year as we continue to grow across the province.

To that end, I am asking you to help us with one final push in 2009. I would love see $8,000 more added to our End of Year Fundraising Campaign tally, for a total of $30,000. This additional money will help defray operational costs in the first quarter of 2010. Anything beyond this amount will go into the campaign fund.

If making a financial contribution during this time of year is too difficult, or if you wish to do more, please consider volunteering a few hours of your time in the New Year. We have a number of innovative programs planned in 2010, and would welcome your help.
