Jaymini Bhikha was born and raised in Mississauga and has seen the area grow and develop over the years. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelors of Arts, specializing in environmental management.

Jaymini Bhikha was born and raised in Mississauga and has seen the area grow and develop over the years. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelors of Arts, specializing in environmental management.

Upon graduation, she worked at the national office of the Sierra Club of Canada as a campaign intern and then as an Administrative and Campaigns Assistant, where she worked on the Species at Risk Act, the development of a green car website and sections of the annual Kyoto Report Card.

She is currently working in Toronto at a non-profit organization which is focused on supporting and promoting local sustainable foods.

Jaymini has volunteered with various organizations including the National Gallery Teen Council, where she helped plan and develop an event which would educate teens about environmental issues. She has also volunteered for the Green Team at the Ottawa Bluesfest, the Association for Canadian Environmental Resources.
