Otto Casanova

Further to his professional career in sales, Otto has volunteered his time in various community based and professional organizations. He has lived in Mississauga for more than 20 years and is committed to participating in the development of a leading & world-class sustainable Ontario. Otto firmly supports and advocates the Green Party’s 10 key values and believes the best way to support and promote any value is when citizens meet as equals to resolve problems and make decisions that are important to their community and nation. Otto is calling for all Green Party supporters to become active in this election and – most importantly – between elections.

In 1995, Otto created his own business and developed it for more than 15 years. He now manages international markets outside of North America as an employee for a respectable Ontarian manufacturing firm. The same entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of his business motivates Otto to want to continue innovating and working towards creating the next generation of green technologies and services. Otto has a diverse educational background including economics, computer science and graphic arts. He is currently enrolled in Political Science at York University.

Otto has been a member of the Mississauga Traffic Safety Council and the Churchill Meadows Residents Association. He also acted as board member of the Ontario Printing & imaging Association as well as President of the Canadian-Latin American Chamber of Commerce. Among his favourite experiences, Otto says, has been his past involvement with the Green Party of Canada, both as a candidate and as an advocate for Citizenship and Immigration within the Party’s shadow cabinet.

After living in Canada for a few years in the late 70’s, Otto finally migrated into this great country from Venezuela in 1990. He has lived in Mississauga since and in Mississauga-Erindale for almost four years alongside his wife Carla and their 10 year old daughter, Raquel. He enjoys Tennis, Swimming, Martial Arts, Biking, Camping, Gardening and Reading.
