There are emerging challenges that threaten the economic, ecological and sociological well-being of our nation. The challenges we face need action now, or we will be the first generation to leave our children with a country that is worse off, instead of better. Our government is responsible for anticipating economic and environmental risks and taking steps to avoid or mitigate incidents that will be harmful to our citizens. It requires a visionary view forward, not only to see the challenges that we face but also the opportunities. For far too long we have been taking a short term view of the future and we are not prepared for what awaits us. The future we get will be based on the choices and investments we make today.

And we have a responsibility as citizens to take action and force our government to change course when clearly they are headed in the wrong direction. What we must remember is that it is not “their” government. It is ours. We only lend it to those who will take responsibility to lead us to a better future. And there’s no time like the present. The Green Party has a platform that will build a smart economy, strong communities and true democracy. It’s time we had responsible government again. It’s Time. Vote Green.
