The Green Party candidate for Niagara Falls in the upcoming provincial election, Byrne Smith stands for transparency, honesty and authenticity in his work and home life, and endeavors to bring these values to the provincial government as a representative of the Green Party - and to the people of Niagara Falls.

Serving the larger community is a 24/7 commitment for Byrne. As Coordinator of Residential and School-Based Services for Pathstone Mental Health, Byrne is a powerful advocate for children and families looking to access service for children with mental health issues, and has gained extensive experience in procuring and utilizing all possible resources to provide them with the vital assistance, education and support they need.

Byrne studied sociology at Brock University and has over a decade of work experience with disadvantaged youth. He has volunteered and spearheaded many community-minded initiatives - including feeding the homeless - and hopes to expand these commitments going forward.

The October 6 election will be Byrne’s second run as a Green Party candidate; in 2007, he ran for the Green Party in St. Catharines. He has been a Niagara resident his entire life, and has proudly taken up residence in Crystal Beach with his wife Christina. He has enjoyed exploring the area – including the incredible local food and the fun new spots to walk his dogs! Byrne is looking forward to meeting as many of his neighbors during the campaign as he can - and to sharing the platform of the Green Party in service of his beloved region of Niagara Falls
